The Story Behind the Name
Rising high above the Staffordshire and Derbyshire countryside, The Roaches is one of the Peak District’s most spectacular escarpments. Famous for its dramatic gritstone cliffs, far-reaching views and fascinating local folklore, it’s a place that has inspired walkers, climbers, artists and adventurers for generations. Despite its rugged beauty, there’s a real sense of peace to be found at the summit, where sweeping landscapes stretch as far as the eye can see.
Our The Roaches room reflects that same balance of character and tranquillity. Behind its elegant interiors lies a space designed for complete relaxation—a place to rest, recharge and enjoy the slower pace of the Peak District. Like the landmark itself, it’s memorable, full of charm and leaves a lasting impression long after your stay has ended.
The room also features:
- A stylish en-suite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower
- A smart TV on a pull-out wall mount, allowing you to relax and watch from the comfort of bed
- Complimentary Wi-Fi, luxury linens and carefully curated boutique touches throughout
- A hair dryer
- An iron / ironing board / steamer available on request
Whether you’re visiting for a romantic getaway, a walking holiday or a peaceful escape, The Roaches offers a relaxing stay that’s full of charm, comfort and character.
