Inspired by the rugged beauty of the Peak District’s highest plateau, this spacious room combines French antique furniture and luxurious modern comforts to create somewhere that’s both elegant and inviting. The striking mezzanine level adds a real sense of space and makes the room feel a little different – perfect for guests looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

The Story Behind the Name

Standing at 2,087 feet (636 metres), Kinder Scout is the highest point in the Peak District National Park. Known for its dramatic gritstone edges, hidden waterfalls, sweeping moorland and unforgettable views, it’s a place that rewards those who take the time to explore.

Our Kinder Scout room captures that same sense of discovery. With its unique split-level layout, beautiful antique furnishings and peaceful atmosphere, it’s designed to feel like a retreat from the everyday—a place to slow down, recharge and experience the character and beauty that make the Peak District so special.

Much like the hill itself, our Mam Tor room is a place to pause, unwind and appreciate the beauty in the details. It’s a space that celebrates the charm of the Peak District while offering all the comforts of a boutique retreat in the heart of Buxton.
