Welcome Upstairs. We’re Laura & Joe, and we’re delighted you’ve chosen to stay with us. Our boutique rooms have been lovingly renovated with French antiques, plush furnishings and thoughtful details to create a relaxing escape in the heart of Buxton.

How to find us & Parking
We are based on Market Street, just off Buxton’s Market Place. There are multiple council car parks close by, complimented with short-stay bays.

To access UpStairs @ UpBuxton, follow the sign down the lane on the left side of the building to the back gate (with our logo), enter the yard and use the first door on the right, where you will need to enter your code for entry. Once you’ve entered, please ensure the main door is locked behind you as it doesn’t self-lock. You must use your code to unlock and lock the doors.
Parking
There is ample parking on the Market Place, with a reduced capacity on Market days Tuesday and Saturday.
If you are driving from Manchester Airport the easiest route is along the A555, taking a right onto the A6 then following through Disley, New Mills Newtown, along Chapel-en-le-Frith bypass, through Dove Holes and ultimately arriving in Buxton.
Trains run from Manchester and Manchester Airport, via Stockport and Hazel Grove, the station is around a 10 minute walk from our apartments.
There are also a number of charming bus routes to Buxton and the surrounding villages, including Bakewell and Chatsworth House. You can find information of the routes and timetables below.

Check-In/Check-Out Instructions
You can Check-in with us from 3pm, Check-out by 10am.
Please ensure that when entering the front door you lock it behind you, it does not self-lock.
When leaving your room or the building, please use your code to lock the door.

Before leaving, please:
- Ensure all windows are closed
- Ensure you have logged out of any TV services
- Turn off lights and electrical appliances
- Check that you have all personal belongings
- Ensure your room door is securely closed behind you (using your code to lock the door)
Heating Instructions
We have the boiler on a timer which changes throughout the year. You are welcome to change the temperature control on the radiators in the rooms if needed.
WiFi Settings

The password can be found in the guidebook supplied shortly before your stay.
TV Information
Our TVs are digital and stream through our Wi-Fi rather than a traditional aerial.
Open the ‘Live TV’ app to watch live television.
BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5 and YouTube are pre-installed. If you’d like to watch Netflix, Prime Video or other subscription services, simply sign in using your own account.
Please remember to sign out before you leave. Housekeeping checks every TV after departure to ensure no personal accounts remain logged in.
Breakfast & Dining
While we’re renovating downstairs, breakfast isn’t currently available. We can recommend Blossom or The Vault for breakfast, or the Corner Cupboard for early-bird takeaways.
Coming soon: UpMarket – a brunch spot & deli by day, wine bar with small plates by night. Breakfast and dinner packages will be available for guests once we open.

Local Shops, Restaurants and Activites
The nearest shops are located on Buxton Market place, where you can find a Sainsburys and a Morrison’s Local which are open till 10pm. There is also a butchers, pharmacy and a chip shop, cafés, bars and pubs. There is a regular market on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.
There is a more substantial shopping area in the lower part of Buxton too, where you can find your typical High Street brands such as Waitrose, WH Smiths, McDonald’s and Superdrug around a 5-10 mins walk away.

Stewart Medical Centre is the nearest GP located on Hartington Rd. There is a minor injuries hospital called The Cottage on the southern side of Buxton on London Rd.

- Quiet hours are from 10:00pm until 8:00am.
- Please keep noise to a minimum.
- Parties and gatherings are strictly prohibited.
Smoking
- Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the building.
Cleanliness
- Please keep your room reasonably clean and tidy.
- Dispose of rubbish responsibly. If you need to access outdoor refuse please let us know. Please do not use the bins outside of our property out of respect for our neighbours.
Visitors
- Only registered guests are permitted to stay overnight.
Safety
- Do not tamper with fire alarms, smoke detectors or safety equipment.
Damages & Breakages
Guests may be charged for:
- Missing items
- Damaged furnishings
- Broken electrical equipment
- Damage to bedding, towels or mattresses
- Excessive cleaning requirements
- Damage caused through negligence or misuse
Important Property Information
The downstairs area of the building is private and is not part of the guest accommodation.
Guests must not enter the downstairs section of the property via the landing.
For the safety and security of all guests, CCTV is in operation in the hallway and communal access areas. Any unauthorised access to restricted areas will be recorded, and the property management team will be automatically notified.
